Porter-Cable Review disapointed
I received my generator as promised and began to assemble the brackets and wheels. The instruction manual had poor photos of what I was supposed to do. When I got to the wheel brackets, I found that they had been drilled wrong and the holes did not line up with the frame!. A call to DeVilbiis put me on hold for 20 minutes and then I spoke to a rep who told me they would send out new brackets the next day by 2 day shipping. That was a week ago and the brackets have not arrived so the generator is still on the wooden pallet in my garage. Another phone call resulted in a 30 minute hold and I had to hang up. I found a local dealer and will try him after the easter weekend , butI am ready to ask Amazon to cancel my credit card purchase and arrange to pick up the darn gerarator. Of course once you open the package it is destroyed leaving me in a quandry. I will update this in a few days. WATCH OUT for Porter Cable

Porter-Cable Review Attention! Porter Cable Users
If you own the Porter Cable RN 175, do not buy these nails. I tried to use these nails and they did not fit properly in the gun. However, if you have a Hitachi nail gun, they work fine. I was dissappointed because I thought they would work well with my Porter Cable gun. Happy Roofing!

Porter-Cable Review There are better nails
Yes, these nails do fit the PC RN 175 roofing nailer but they can be a pain to load and they seemed to jamb a little more often than the other brand nail (of identical length) that I used. I found it helped to not take a coil of nails out of the box since they sit in a pre-formed or molded container, until just before loading into the gun. I'm not a pro but I did get the job done and these tools are light years better than using a hammer & nail which is primitive in comparison.

Porter-Cable Review remodeler
They fit the Dewalt 51321 nailer just fine. I also have used this system to install cement tile backer sheets around tub and shower framing. What a waste of time using a hammer!

Porter-Cable Review Returned Item says it all
The belt sander was returned immediately due to it's condition. It was supposed to be factory reconditioned "Like new". It was covered in heavy sawdust and the collector bag had a large hole in it. The collector tube was so out of shape it would not attach to the sander. Stick to the new products for Porter Cable. If the cost for new is too high, purchase a Makita.

Porter-Cable Review Same as previous review:
I have had no problems with any reconditioned products from Amizon.com in the past. I love my drill press and nail gun. My sander came in just as the previous review. It was covered in sawdust and had some rust. Amizon sent me another one overnight and it was in better shape. I kept it and know that Amizon will take care of me. The return sticker took a while to recieve, after the new one came, but I had no problems sending it back, I guess I need to trust the customers reviews.

Porter-Cable Review Mine works great
Mine works great and I wouldn't trade it for any other kind or brand name. As a matter of fact I put away another brand name the first day after I started using this model. It's a solid machine that simply works great, and it has been doing that for a long time now. The way I see it, Amazon makes it easy for you to purchase just about any sander on the market. I tried this one and if I have to buy another one, I'll have 2 of the same kind.

Porter-Cable Review Returned to Amazon
1) Once installed on my 690, it caused EXCESS vibration. 2) The collar to adapt to 1/4" bits is not easy to use. It falls into the shaft hole too easily.

Great idea but not for me.

Porter-Cable Review Good addition to my router
Installation was easy for a do-it-yourselfer. Performance has been excellent; vibration-free, solid grip on 1/4" bits. My only gripes: It takes a lot of hand strength to lock and unlock the bits, and like the other reviewers, I've found it hard to keep the adapter collet from bottoming out, making it a little finicky and slow at times. I lost the adapter and had to contact Jacobs/Danaher Corp. directly to re-order (800-866-5753). Not a big deal. All in all, a welcome addition to my PC router, a definite improvement over wrenching.

Porter-Cable Review Easy for a rookie
I am new at woodworking and just got my first router. I had heard so many horror stories about changing bits that I was putting off using the router at all. I decided to try the PowerCollet, thinking it couldn't be worse than using the wrenches. I was so happily surprised. It was easy to install, even though I would have preferred a little more detail. The 1/4" reducer was actually easy to insert and I had no trouble with it getting stuck. I was able to swap bits out in a matter of seconds and they were firm and steady. I didn't feel any vibraton to speak of. Granted, it adds about 1-1/2" to the shaft but it comes with spacers to make it easier to get at things on a fixed base. I used it with my plunge router with no adjustments. I really love this thing. It is going to make it much easier to use my router as an integral part of my shop.

Porter-Cable Review save your money
Porter cable has designed a flop. If you drop this saw (or the rh model) on the front corner of the table base, it will break off. It is mounted to a thin piece of plastic on the blade shroud. It lasted three days on my job site. Are we tough on tools? Yes. But the old P C saws could withstand all of our roughness and would only fail well after their anticipated usefullness. I have heard that they are addressing the problem. Maybe try Bosch for now.

Porter-Cable Review Plastic part?
I find it difficult to believe that Porter-Cable would mount a critical part like the base to the gear housing with a plastic part. I'm looking at the parts list (go to their website to see it) and I see the base is mounted to the gear housing with a T that looks like it should be metal. There would be no reason to make it out of plastic since it would be cheap to make from metal and the problems this would cause would not be worth any economy realized, if any.

There is a caution about the roll pin that holds the T to the housing:

"Early units were made with a Roll Pin Ref. 32 that was 1.5" long and current units are made with a Roll Pin that is 1.75" long. The longer Roll Pin Ref. 32 provides greater support for the Gear Housing Ref. 50 in the event the base is hit or the tool is dropped. A recess is required in the Upper Guard Ref. 51 to accommodate the longer Roll Pin. The current Gear Housing Assy. Ref. 50 includes the longer Roll Pin Ref. 32"

So maybe the shorter roll pin was a problem that is somewhat allieviated with the longer one in current models.

Porter-Cable Review Porter-Cable 424MAG 7-1/4" Blade Left Circular Saw
This is the type of tool that you will say "How did I ever manage to get along without it". I have a 25 year old Craftsman saw that I fought everytime I used it. This saw is light, the cord stays out of the way. The blade is on the left where you can see it. Cutting power is great. It feels like you are cutting air. If this saw holds up like the rest of the Porter-Cable tools that I have purchased it will be money well spent.

I can't tell you how good the product is, because I haven't purchased it yet. I am still trying to find out how many disks you get for this price!!! If it is price for 1 it is way too expensive, if it is for 100 it is a good price, if it is for 50 it is just an ok price.

Porter-Cable Review Insufficient data, psa sandpaper
Your description is lousy.....these pads will work on any manufacturers 5 inch psa sander.....how many per pack??????manufacturers traditionally pack these sheets in quantities ranging from 5 to 100......
Mirka is a good product.....

Porter-Cable Review Three to one
I have purchased this brand of sandpaper before and I thought it was just fine sandpaper, that is before I received a free sample of 3M sandpaper,I was shocked to discover that it took three Mirka
sandpaper disk to do the same area that a single 3M sandpaper disk was able to accomplish the same area. while I do not believe you get what you pay for his true in all cases it is the case when it comes to cheap sandpaper and 3M sandpaper.

Porter-Cable Review As good as their other H&L pads
Works fine with my Porter-Cable 333 ROS.

Porter-Cable Review Filter bag - smilter bag
I have the 10 gallon vacuum. These bags are obviously too big for it. In trying fit the first bag into my vacuum, I either tore the tape binding the end, or it tore on its own. I've had these bags before and they didn't seem as big. It was the first thing I noticed. I've also used the Shop Vac brand and generics but think these bags are designed better if they fit. I don't think I'll order them again though. I'll just buy the ones at the home centers.

Porter-Cable Review I wouldn't use the vacuum without these bags!
I've used these filter bags since I purchased my Porter Cable 15 Gal. capacity Wet/Dry vac. Sure the vacuum works without the bag, but for plaster, drywall, and demolition dirt/dust, you're going to want it. The bag keeps the vac's main filter from getting clogged up, and when the bag is full, you simply lift it out and throw it away! And they're pretty tough too! I like to milk the most from every bag and even full of plaster dust and debris (heavy) it didn't rip or puncture on the way to the dumpster.

Did I mention the non-existent blow-out of dust material? Between the bag's filtration and the vac's filter, the dust gets trapped in the vacuum where it belongs - not floating around your job site.

Porter-Cable Review Don't waste your money....
I bought the driver and saw kit and the hammer drill kit. In the first year I replaced the drill/drivers three times...while under warranty. The saw worked well and the flashlight was the best part of this kit. Now it is a couple years old and the batteries are dead and at $90 each I am not replacing them. I bought Hitachi this time with a five year warranty. I wasted $600 on the Porter Cable junk. I noticed that most stores are carrying this line anymore.

Porter-Cable Review Price too high
I was considering purchasing this item until I saw the price! I though on most combo packs you're suppose to save a good chunk of money. But looking at the price of the three seperate items the savings is only $20.00. That's a shame because I think this is a great kit, But not for $699.00!

Porter-Cable Review Best price vs performance
I'm not brand loyal, I look for the best tool at the best price. I searched the local stores and this tool offered 400 ft/lbs for 79.95. Works great for home/garage use and looks great too.The 20 pc socket set can't be beat for the price either.
