Best remover for labels and adhesiveThis is the best product I know of for removing price labels and their adhesive from most surfaces. I've used it for over 10 years. It may damage a few cheap plastics, so test first.

Nice Sanding Sleeves at a Good ValueI actually purchased these sanding sleeves for my old Boice Crane OSS not a Jet OSS as the sleeves were intended for. They work very well on the Boice Crane. You're not going to find a better value for these 9" sleeves than Amazon.com. I shopped local stores and on-line... Amazon.com had the best deal. Plus, I purchased three different diameters of sanding sleeves, which qualified me for free shipping due to the value of my order. All of my sleeves were delivered in less than a week. I was afraid they might be damaged during shipping because they're kind of a delicate item, but they arrived just fine. Amazon.com even went to the extra cost of splitting my shipment into two different deliveries to expidite my order due to some of the sleeves being in short supply. The bottom line is this: the Jet sanding sleeves are just what I needed for my sander and Amazon.com, once again, was a pleasure to do business with.

This one might be too big, better really need something bright, long lasting, and for self-defense (ouch)These are great lights. I have had at least 5 Maglights in my life and each one has been there reliabily even after being dropped and on in the rain and in the mud...I am pretty rough on them. I even had one in the bedroom I found them so very useful. I am sure you will find them usefull too, no matter what size you get! Other than that, take care and good luck shopping.

A handy dandy toolI'm a potato farmer, Labor Contractor, and a Photogapher. While I may not have much use for this neat little impact wrench in my photography business, it's a life saver.... well, at least a huge time saver in keeping my potato harvesing equipment opperating during Potato harvest. I've only had it a couple days, and now I wonder how I ever got along with out it.
It's not too big and bulky to carry around and keep with me, yet it has plenty of power to zip the nuts off bolts, and to do it quickly. I bought a keeless chuck, and welded it to a half inch drive scoket. Now not only do I have the perfect wrinch for most of my equipment repairs, but in a second I can snap the chuck on the impact wrench and I have a very powerful and effective drill. The first day I got the impact wrench, I was using it to fix a potato sizer, and all the workers came around to see what a neat little tool I had. Several of the guys ask if I could get please order one for them. The 6918DWD may seem a little expensive, but when I have 30 people on the payroll erning $10 an hour, it cost me $300 an hour to have them just sitting there waiting for me to fix a break down. (If you have ever been a farmer, and been through a harvest, you'll understand about equipment and how it seems to break down a lot during the pressur of harvest.) I can fix a 30 minut break down in less than half the time with the speedy impact wrench, so over the course of one harvest, this neat little impact wrench will probably save me a few thousand dollars... I would recomend the Makita 6918DWD to anyone that needs to save a little time....... It's great, and well worth the investment.

MULTI-TOOL, MULTI-LOCK, MULTI-PLIER, GERBER, 10 BLADES
Made by FISKARS BRANDS, INC.

Every Grunt should have oneThere are two things not issued in basic training that every Infantry Grunt should have. The first is a poncho liner (see my reviews) the second is a Gerber Multi-Tool. This thing has so many uses and proves its worth time and time again.
I am not necessarily saying that this one is the best of the bunch. It did, however, serve me faithfully for my 4 years in service. It has all of the features on could possibly ask for without being overly awkward.
I do recommend Gerbers over Leatherman though. Almost every soldier that bought a Leatherman ended up regretting it as soon as they borrowed a Gerber from someone else. Gerbers just feel right in the user's hands, the Leatherman does not.
One really nice accessory that you can purchase with this is an optional nylon case. It comes with a small adaptor and a few extra bits to make this an even more useful tool.

My favorite Swiss Army knifeThe Victorinox Executive is my favorite Swiss Army knife. My father gave me my first one, and I've carried one in my pocket for the past 20 years. At 3" long and 2.1 oz in weight, it's a good size for a man's trouser pocket as opposed to the larger Swiss Army knives (eg, the Swiss Army Altimeter Tool at 3.5" long and 3.8 oz in weight which goes in my backpack). Of the multiple functions, I end up using the small scissors the most; the two knife blades, orange peeler, standard screwdriver, nail file, tweezers, and toothpick come in handy, too. My only problem in these post-9/11 days is that I can't carry it with me on airline flights, which leaves me feeling a little helpless at times.
An excellent gift idea!

Incredible value!I purchased my first 96" Vega Duplicator in 1997 for spindle work, followed by a smaller 16" version for doing just face plate turnings. I was building lamps for a hotel at the time, my first "job" as a (he he) professional wood turner. I'm really only an "out of control hobbiest". I did a total of 210 lamps, each with 3 individual sections, a total of 630 turnings in about 6 weeks time. Netted $7,000. I did what the big boys would have done for a lot less money, and all by myself! You usually have to use strips of sand paper to finish up the turning, and fine tune the shapes with hand tools if desired. The woods I used were the hardest of tropical hardwoods imagineable. For that kind of wood I recommend the Vega Diamond Vee cutter, apparently not available at Amazon. If I were turning basswood, I could have made 1000 or more turnings in the same amount of time. I lost everything in the big fires here in San Diego County in 10/03, and finally getting around to replacing my equipment. This was one of my "must have" tools to replace. Very well made. You have to do simple routine maintenance, like taking off the cover and blowing out the dust with compressed air, or brushing it off. And keep it oiled. You make your own templates with plexiglass or lexan, which you cut out on a band or scroll saw and finish up with files or sand paper. They are fun to make, and to then try it out on the duplicator. THis tool is also a fun way to do turnings if you are a bit skittish holding the individual turning tools in your hand. THis machine actually improved my hand turning tools by giving me the confidence to go for it! As you can see, I really like this machine. Have fun.
